Pancakes for Dinner
While commonly eaten for breakfast, pancakes can also be a delicious treat for dinner. But you don’t have to have pancakes for dinner the same way you have them for breakfast. In fact, there are plenty of savory recipes out there to help you make pancakes that are right at home on the dinner table.
- Pizza Pancakes: These pancakes are similar to your standard buttermilk pancakes except that instead of sugar, you add Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, and whatever pizza toppings you like. Cook the pancakes in olive oil instead of butter, then serve them with tomato sauce.
- Veggie Pancakes: Cut back on the sugar and add shredded carrots and zucchini to make healthy pancakes that are perfect for dinner. Top them with sour cream or Greek yogurt before serving.
- Pancakes With Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese: Start by cooking your standard buttermilk pancakes to your liking. Cool them completely, then top them with a mixture of horseradish, sour cream, mustard, chives, and black pepper. Finish with a layer of smoked salmon.
